Limited Archery Elk Hunts

Planning your dream hunt just became easier.

There’s nothing like hunting bugling bulls during the rut. We hunt a limited license unit for archery and muzzleloader, which provides a high quality experience. Reserve your spot now to lock in this year’s price. Plus, we will even handle the application process for you!

Do not wait until after the draw! Hunters who reserve ahead have priority. If you contact us after the draw, we may not have an opening. Follow the steps below to reserve your spot.

Here’s How it Works:

When you book a limited archery elk or muzzleloader hunt now, you lock in your spot at the current price. Even if it takes a few years to draw, future price increases will not apply to you. Plus, we can handle the preference points and application process for you!

First, download the booking form below. Fill it out and send it back to us with your $500 deposit. This one-time deposit holds your spot and it applies toward the cost of your hunt when you draw. Your deposit never expires. Each year that you don’t draw, your deposit will be rolled over to the following year. It remains valid until you draw.

Each season, we will contact you before the draw to make a plan, based on your goals and your current preference point level. When you draw the tag, your $500 deposit is applied toward the cost of the hunt.

Step 2:

 FAQs

  • Most of our archery elk and muzzleloader elk hunts take place in a limited draw unit and require points.

We do offer some hunts in an over-the-counter archery elk area. If you’d like to book a bow hunt for elk this year in an OTC unit, please contact us for details.

  • Currently, it takes a nonresident hunter 2-3 preference points to draw the archery elk license in our limited hunt unit. Colorado residents can draw with 0-1 point. Hunters can accumulate 1 point per species, per year.

The opportunity to hunt elk during the rut with a muzzleloader requires more of a wait. Currently, it takes a nonresident hunter 5-6 preference points to draw. Colorado residents can draw with 1-2 points.

Please keep in mind that these are based on last year’s draw statistics and can fluctuate based on the amount of demand and the number of tags issued by CPW each year.

  • Each year when we submit your application, Colorado Parks and Wildlife will charge you a $10.00 application fee per species. CPW also requires you to purchase a habitat stamp ($11.50) and a qualifying license ($93.78 annual small game license). These fees paid to the state are non-refundable application costs. You will not be charged for the cost of your elk license until you draw. Currently, a non-resident elk license is $760.99 and includes fishing.

  • Congratulations! You’re about to embark on a wilderness elk hunting adventure. When you successfully draw a license, a 50% deposit is required to secure your dates with Budge’s. However, do not wait until after the draw to book your hunt! Please follow the steps above and reserve your spot now. Hunters who book ahead have priority. If you contact us after the draw, we may not have a spot for you.

When you draw, we will send you a copy of the hunt contract. You must return the signed contract and your 50% deposit immediately to secure your dates. The final balance will be due August 1st.
